Dietary key

What the codes mean

  • VVegetarian recipe.
  • VGVegan recipe.
  • NRecipe contains nuts or peanut.
  • SRecipe contains shellfish.
  • Heat. One mark is warm, two is firm, three is hot with Sichuan numbing.
  • ChipsThe other chips on a row name the main allergens in that recipe, for example wheat, soy, egg, dairy, fish, sesame, pork, alcohol or barley (gluten).

These codes describe the recipe as written. They are not an allergen guarantee. The kitchen is small and shares one fryer, one wok station and the same boards and tongs. We handle wheat, barley, soy, egg, sesame, peanut, shellfish, fish and dairy every day, so no dish here is free of them.

Nothing is labelled gluten-free. Wheat and barley are listed where a recipe uses them, but shared equipment means traces are possible in every dish.

Tell the counter about any allergy before you pay. On most bowls we can leave out the egg, pickles, chilli crisp or peppercorn oil. We cannot change the ribs glaze or the tart.

Pork and alcohol are handled here (ribs, crackling, lager) on shared equipment. Please decide with that in mind.

Children's portions: any bowl at half rice for $2 less. Ask at the counter.

How service works

Dine in

Twenty-four seats, no reservations. Order and pay at the counter, take a number stand, and we bring food to the table. Water, cutlery and pepper mills are on the side counter. At peak, 12:00 to 13:30 and 18:30 to 20:00, tables are shared and we ask for the table back once you have finished.

Take away

Everything is boxed in paper, $0.30 a box. Bring your own container and there is no box charge. Broth and sauces travel in a separate lidded pot. Bowls usually take about 8 minutes, plates about 15. For six or more bowls, tell the counter first and they will give you a time.

Pay

Cards and cash at the counter. Prices shown in SGD. No service charge. We do not take online orders. Tell the counter what you would like and they will ring it up.
